Toyota has suspended production at all of its Japanese plants due to a shortage of steel following an explosion at a Japanese steel plant last month.
The company said that assembly lines at 16 Japanese plants will be halted from today (Monday 8th) through to Saturday, 13th February, with operations expected to resume on 15th February.

Toyota-owned component plants also suspended output for a day today.
Toyota said last week that a blast at an Aichi Steel plant on 8 January had curbed production of auto steel.
Toyota in Japan produces around 13,000 vehicles a day.
