Ford is to build more vehicles in Asia for Mazda, according to AutoAsia.
The magazine says that Ford will build Mazda’s Tribute SUV in Taiwan. and plans to build Mazda Familia/323 passenger cars at its assembly plant in the Philippines.
Ford Lio Ho Motor, will build about 3,000 Tributes this year, AutoAsia said, with Mazda supplying key components, including suspensions, from Japan.
Taiwan’s Tributes have so far come from an American Ford factory that is having trouble meeting demand for the Escape/Maverick, on which the Tribute is based, AutoAsia said.
