A weak dollar and growing demand for diesel cars with common rail systems and ESP systems contributed to a 17% increase in turnover at Bosch.


Delphi had ranked top of the table since its formation in 1999, but its turnover fell in 2004, largely thanks to the poor performance of its largest customer, GM.


Magna International ranked third, up from seventh position based on 2003 turnover. It was very closely followed by Denso and Johnson Controls.


Visteon ranked sixth on 2004 turnover, down from fourth a year previously, but it may not even appear in the top 10 next year after its recent restructuring, which saw Ford buy back 24 of Visteon’s 137 plants.
