Eberspächer, the German exhaust technology specialist, and the Japanese automotive component supplier CalsonicKansei are setting up a Paris-based marketing joint venture to intensify their collaboration which previously was confined to isolated projects.
The 50/50 company will submit joint bids for transcontinental vehicle platforms by European and Japanese carmakers which will benefit from the development and production resources in Europe, Japan and the USA.
Hans Günther Ullrich, managing director of Eberspächer Exhaust Systems, said the synergies which can be achieved in this way provide competitive advantages for both partners as well as their customers thanks to combining their advanced development and manufacturing competencies.
With their joint venture, they are establishing a strategic, transcontinental basis close to customers particularly with an eye on the growing markets in eastern European countries as well as in Asia including China. The two suppliers have a highly complementary network of locations.
The company, which operates under the name of ACE Alliance CalsonicKansei Eberspächer S.A.S., will focus on, for example, new vehicle projects by the Renault-Nissan Group, with which an intensive business relationship has already been in place for many years.
