DaimlerChrysler is stopping production of its Vaneo van due to poor demand for the vehicle, a German newspaper reported on Thursday.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung said that the Mercedes-Benz model – based on the last generation A-class platform and available in light commercial vehicle and passenger vehicle variants in different markets – never reached its originally planned annual sales target of 50,000 cars.
The paper added said production at the company’s factory in Berlin would run until the end of the Summer.
