Sales by Toyota in Indonesia soared 40.7% last year, the local venture said on Friday.
PT Toyota Astra Motor, the distributor of Toyota cars in the world’s fourth most populous nation, told Reuters that its sales reached 141,945 units, up from 100,881 in 2003.
The company reportedly said it expects to control around 30% of domestic car sales this year which it estimated had reached more than 475,000 units in 2004, up from 354,519 in the year before.
