Škoda Auto reports that it produced 448,400 vehicles in the first nine months of 2007 – a gain of 9.3% on the same period of last year.


Some 462,400 vehicles were delivered to customers – 12.6% up on last year. 


Škoda Auto’s sales in the period totalled CZK 161.6 billion.


Compared to the same period of last year, the company’s profit grew by 39.3%, reaching CZK 14.8 billion, which is more than the total profit achieved over 2006 (CZK 14.2 billion). 


The Octavia remains the best-selling Škoda model. Altogether 169,900 Octavias were delivered to customers over the first three quarters of 2007 (limousine, estate (“Combi”) and the Scout) – 12.3% ahead of the same period last year.

The company said that the Roomster is a major growth driver, too (47,183 vehicles from the beginning of the year until the end of the third quarter).


The Škoda Auto Group’s investments over the past nine months totalled CZK 4.9 billion – 34% ahead of the same period of last year.


“We mainly invest in innovations and product portfolio extensions. The key investments in 2007 were those relating to the launch of the new-generation Fabia. This is how we ensure that Škoda remains profitable,” said Holger Kintscher, Škoda Auto BOD Member responsible for finance.
