Kia Motors US unit is hoping to sell around 500,000 units and add 40 new dealers by 2012, reported AutoGuide.com.
Vice chairman Hank Lee said the company expects to sell 470,000 vehicles in 2011 versus 356,258 in 2010.
As well as increasing dealers to 800 any outlets not up to expectations will be axed.
Lee added Kia is focusing mainly on 20 key markets in the US but did not elaborate.
