Ford will launch a hot 2005 edition of the Ford Thunderbird to mark the car’s 50th anniversary, TheCarConnection website said, citing sources.

The sporty model would use the supercharged 4.2-litre V8 currently residing under the bonnet of the Jaguar S-type R, the report said.

The platform, based on that shared by the S-type and Lincoln LS, would also have been updated and stiffened by then, lessening the current T-bird’s scuttle shake and poor handling, the website said, adding that a mild exterior rework and more luxurious interior were also planned.
