Volkswagen is considering spending US$190m on a car assembly plant in the Philippines, making the investment through its local distributor – Ayala’s Automobile Central Enterprise.
According to Reuters, citing Malaya Business Insight, VW and its distributor are making a feasibility study.
ACEI president John Orbeta said they are studying the domestic and potential export markets for Volkswagen models in the Philippines.
