General Motors has recalled another 92,000 vehicles worldwide over ignition switch concerns. Other automakers have also announced new recalls in the US.

The Detroit News said the vehicles included 83,572 2011-12 Chevrolet Silverado HD, Silverado LD, Suburban, Tahoe, Avalanche GMC Sierra LD, Sierra HD, Yukon, Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade, along with ESV and EXT versions, in the US with a further 9,000 units being recalled in other countries.

So far, there have not been any reports of crashes, injuries or fatalities due to this latest problem.

Dealers will replace the ignition lock housing in affected vehicles and the automaker expects fewer than 500 vehicles will actually need repairs.

GM has also recalled 3,361 2015 Cadillac SRXs to check seat track brackets – drivers’ seats may not be properly attached.

The automaker is recalling 152 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trucks because faulty heat treatment which could lead to the rear axle shaft breaking while the vehicle is in motion.

It has also recalled 52 2015 GMC Sierra HD diesel and Chevrolet Silverado HD diesel trucks because a hose clamp might not have been properly tightened.

Other recently announced recalls include:

  • Kia Motors America – 95,000 2010-13 Soul crossovers because a headliner plate might become detached if a curtain air bag deploys;
  • Suzuki – 61,000 2010-2013 SX4s because without depressing the brake pedal, the shift selector can be moved out of the ‘park’ position;
  • BMW – 3,700 2014 Mini Cooper Hardtop 2-doors as they do not meet side impact performance requirements;
  • Mercedes-Benz – 1,300 2015 E-series cars because the double seat belt buckle for the middle position of the rear passenger seat could fail.
