GM Korea, the local GM distributor, is planning to introduce Alfa Romeo cars to the Korean market early in 2003.

Sources say that GM Korea plans to import three Alfa models: the mid-sized sedans Alfa 156 and Alfa 166 and the convertible sports car Alfa Spider.

It is also reported that GM Korea will introduce Cadillac’s Escalade and CTS models, and Saab’s New 9-3.

The company’s overall sales target looks fairly modest – increasing sales to 500 units this year, 800 units next year and 1,000 units in 2004. However, analysts point out that importers have a very low share in the Korean market and expanding sales there is notoriously difficult.
