The top five companies accounted for 10% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that Kubota filed the most robotics patents within the automotive industry in Q3 2024. The company filed 48 robotics-related patents in the quarter, compared with 9 in the previous quarter. It was followed by Toyota Motor with 27 robotics patent filings, General Motors (22 filings), and NVIDIA (21 filings) in Q3 2024.
Patenting activity was driven by the US with a 33% share of total patent filings
