Germany’s auto industry registered a 2.5% rise in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 8.12% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.
Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.73% share in May 2022, recording a decrease of 0.59% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s auto industry in May 2022.

Top five auto companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 67.07% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s auto industry during May 2022 over April 2022.
Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche posted 52 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Mercedes-Benz Group with 36 jobs and an 18.18% drop. Bayerische Motoren Werke with 18 IT jobs and Ford Motor with 16 jobs, recorded a 25% decline and a 700% growth, respectively, while Volkswagen recorded an increase of 25% with 15 job postings during May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.81%, down by 4.14% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.78% share, registered an increase of 37.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.41% share, down 20.83% over April 2022.
