Appotronics says it has been selected as the exclusive supplier of automotive optical components for an undisclosed international automaker’s smart cockpit.

This partnership is expected to considerably boost Appotronics’ revenue from the automotive sector.

The new product, which remains under wraps until the automaker unveils its latest vehicle models, is set to include innovative solutions such as rollable laser projection screens.

The collaboration will see the integration of the product into various vehicle models, with an anticipated project lifecycle of five years.

Looking ahead, Appotronics anticipates that its automotive business will surpass the 600m yuan ($82.8m) mark in its 2024 annual performance forecast.

This growth is attributed to the company’s successful delivery of laser products to automotive clients such as Seres and Geely.

Featuring Appotronics’ rollable giant laser projection screen, the Seres AITO M9 model has notably garnered over 200,000 firm orders within a year of its launch in December 2023.

Appotronics has now accumulated 13 development orders for its automotive optics products, out of which three have been confirmed for the year 2025.

Earlier this year, Appotronics secured a development notification from an undisclosed international automaker.

The firm will serve as the exclusive supplier of static automotive lights for the automaker’s global vehicle models.

Appotronics plans to commence mass production and shipments of these lights in this year.

The static lights feature various functions, such as projecting warning information when detecting danger in surroundings, illuminating the brand logo, and displaying customised welcoming content.
