Holdens made by GM’s Australian operation could be re-badged as Daewoos for sale in some export markets once GM begins running the Korean car maker, according to the website drive.com.au.

Drive.com.au says Holden chairman and managing director, Peter Hanenberger, has raised the possibility of Holden-made Daewoos, saying that rather than Daewoo investing in building a new large car it would be simpler and cheaper to rebadge a Statesman or Caprice.
“Daewoo doesn’t have a leading product in the upper range, which could be a Statesman or Caprice,” Hanenberger said, according to drive.com.au.
Drive.com.au said Hanenberger said it was unlikely that such a vehicle would sell in Australia and the Daewoo-badged cars would be reserved for export markets where Daewoo is trying to expand.
