BYD and Brazil’s Raizen Power have announced a deal for construction of EV charging hubs under the Shell Recharge brand in eight capital cities over the next three years.
Starting this year, hubs will be built in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Curitiba, Florianopolis, Salvador and Belem.
The aim is to significantly expand the network of public chargers in the main cities.
Six hundred new DC charge points will be installed on the Shell Recharge network.
There will also be collaboration with digital EV platform Tupinamba.
Raizen Power is after a 25% market share of the EV charging segment.
Raizen is a licensee of the Shell brand and has a network of 8,000 sites across Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.
BYD owners will receive discounts when charging at hubs in the eight cities.
