Shanghai GM has teased the new Buick Envision, announcing its Chinese name as 'Ang Ke Wei', revealing its specifications and the first official photo. The new high-end midsize SUV will go on sale across China later in 2014, targeting the likes of Audi's Q5.

SAIC said the Envision is a completely new model which will set a new benchmark in its segment in China for styling, space, safety, performance and technology.

An Envision concept was shown at Auto Shanghai 2011.

The production Envision is 4,667mm long, 1,839mm wide and 1,696mm high on a 2,750mm wheelbase.

Engine is a two-litre, direct injection turbocharged petrol unit developing 191kw and peak torque of 353nm. It includes stop/start technology.

The six-speed transmission is new and all-wheel-drive will be available.
