TRW Automotive Holdings Asia-Pacific and North American subsidiaries have jointly developed anti-lock braking systems for Chery Automobile Company’s new A520 vehicles.

Chery exports its line of passenger vehicles to more than 25 countries.

TRW said collaboration with Chery underlines its growing presence in the China automotive safety market. Engineers on three continents worked together to complete the application engineering process for the A520, a Chinese domestic vehicle platform.

The A520 also features TRW’s front calliper disc brakes and mechanically actuated booster and master cylinder.

The A520 is a mid-sized sedan that took Chery eight years to develop and is targeted to challenge established models from the likes of Toyota, Ford and Peugeot.
