Ford Motor Company has implemented a strategic reorganisation of its management team in Europe as part of its ongoing efforts to drive business transformation across the region.

Dr Christian Weingärtner has been appointed vice-president of Europe Business Transformation, taking on the responsibility of overhauling Ford’s operations across the continent.

Reporting to Ford vice-chair and chief financial officer John Lawler, Weingärtner’s will be responsible for overseeing the company’s strategic direction in Europe.

Weingärtner, who joined Ford in 2020, previously served as managing director for Ford Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

He has also held leadership roles in shaping Ford’s strategy for autonomous vehicles and mobility.

In conjunction with this appointment, Ford has named Christoph Herr as the new managing director of Ford Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Herr transitions to this role after leading the service and parts business for Ford in the DACH region as director of the Ford Service Organisation.

His background includes spearheading digital solutions at MAN Truck & Bus, where he was instrumental in digitalising sales and aftersales processes and advancing digital fleet management solutions.
