FUTURE TECHNOLOGY LAUNCHES
* Communiport(R) Infotainment PC on 2001 Cadillac Seville and DeVille (North America) – will allow the vehicle’s occupants to stay in touch by bringing a wide range of new information, connectivity and navigation services into the vehicle.
* Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service (SDARS) Technology – to be featured in 2001 on new General Motors vehicles to be announced (North America). SDARS will give consumers a much broader range of programming choices with quality reception.
* MagneRide(TM) ride control system suspension technology – in 2002 (North America) – will provide a smoother and more secure ride.
* QUADRASTEER(TM) four-wheel steering system – on 2002 GM Full-Size Pickup Trucks – will provide enhanced maneuverability at lower speeds, added stability at higher speeds and improved trailering capabilities.
* Common rail diesel being launched on four manufacturers’ programs in the coming year.
* Non Thermal Plasma emission control is being developed with PSA Peugeot Citroen.
* Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) is being developed with BMW and Renault for a mid-decade launch.
* New Occupant Detection Sensors are being launched, initially on top of the range vehicles.
* A new truck diesel engine ECU will complement the new EUI / EUP offerings from Delphi Diesel.
* New Stop-Start Energen system to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions.
