Peugeot is adding what it calls a ‘half night shift’ at its Mulhouse factory in eastern France to meet demand for the 2008 crossover.
The extra shift will increase daily 2008 production to 860 units a day but will not mean any new jobs since the half shift on the Mulhouse line that produces the Citroën C4 and DS4 will end on 21 July. This means that positions on the new 2008 half shift will be filled internally.
Peugeot said it had received more than 120,000 orders for the 2008 which was launched in spring 2013.
