Renault subsidiary, Sovab, will invest EUR200m in its plant in Batilly in preparation for production of the next generation Master.
Batilly produces the current Master model which was introduced in 1997 and restyled in 2003.
Capacity at the plant will be increased by 30% to 135,000 vehicles a year, Employment at the plant will remain the same at around 2,550 people.
The investment will focus on adapting assembly lines to the new model and automating some operations.
Batilly is the only European plant to produce the Master (it is also assembled in Brazil). It also produces the Opel Movano and Nissan Interstar, which are based on the Master platform.
