Geely Auto has carried out a comprehensive crash and safety test for its Geely EX5 model at the TECCON laboratory in Austria.
Held at a certified passive safety centercentre by Euro NCAP, the test evaluated the EX5 at 50km/h, significantly higher than the industry standard of 35 km35km/h. This higher speed resulted in a 104% increase in collision energy.

During the assessment, the EX5 demonstrated safety performance. Key systems such as hazard lights, emergency call functions, and automatic door unlocking operated effectively, aiding in potential emergency response.
The vehicle’s battery remained intact without leaks, smoke, or fire, while the passenger cabin preserved its structural integrity.
Airbags and seatbelts also performed as intended, ensuring occupant protection, Geely said.
The crash test follows the EX5’s recent attainment of five-star safety ratings from both Euro New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) and Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

Geely Auto officially unveiled the Geely EX5 SUV to the Australia and New Zealand markets last month.
The company established a subsidiary in Australia last year, focusing on integrating local dealers, suppliers, and partners.
Geely said that EX5 has recorded sales of 12,000 units in the mainland China market in the first month following its launch. In over seven months, cumulative deliveries have exceeded 100,000 units.
The company plans to launch eight new energy vehicle (NEV) models based on its GEA architecture over the next three years.
