Volkswagen chief executive Bernd Pischetsrieder on Monday told Dow Jones Newswires that vehicle sales in the fourth-quarter have been “relatively good”.
The news agency noted the statement came after a weak third quarter, when VW suffered a 65% fall in net profit and 0.3% dip in car sales.
Dow Jones noted that Pischetsrieder didn’t provide concrete figures for car sales, and it wasn’t clear whether he was referring to the whole group, which includes the Audi, Skoda, and Bentley brands, or just the core VW brand.
