ZF has unveiled Jörg Grotendorst as head of its new E-Mobility division, in which ZF will bundle its e-mobility activities as from the beginning of 2016.
"Mobility in the future will increasingly be about electrification, digitisation and interconnectedness,” said ZF CEO, Stefan Sommer. “Jörg Grotendorst has 20 years in automotive electronics under his belt and he's a proven expert in the field.

"His knowledge and experience make him ideally qualified to lead our new E-Mobility division and inject the crucial impetus we need in digitisation and electric drives."
Grotendorst comes to ZF from Siemens in Erlangen, where he managed the e-Car Powertrain Systems business unit in the Digital Factory division from June 2012.
Previously, Grotendorst spent twelve years at Continental in various functions, including most recently head of strategy and technology. Before that he was Head of the Hybrid & Electric Vehicle business unit.
In its sixth division, ZF is is bundling all its activities in car and commercial vehicle electrification at its Schweinfurt location. So far, activities regarding the future business of e-mobility have been allocated to different organisational units.
The Electronic Systems and Electric Drive Technology business units are the core of the new E-Mobility division. Also included is the E-Mobility Project House, which collates various e-mobility projects from the whole company.
