Inti Karya Persada Tehnik and Toyo Engineering have received contracts from Synthetic Rubber Indonesia, which is a JV between Groupe Michelin and Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk, to build a synthetic rubber facility in Cilegon, Indonesia.

The plant, with an annual manufacturing capacity of 120,000 tonnes, will produce Michelin-licensed Solution Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SSBR) and Polybutadiene Rubber with Neodymium Catalyst (PBR) that will be used in tyre production.

Chandra Asri Petrochemical’s subsidiary Petrokimia Butadiene Indonesia will supply Butadiene feedstock to the plant, Tyrepress.com reported.

Synthetic Rubber Indonesia has an offshore supply contract with Toyo Engineering and an engineering, procurement and construction contract with Inti Karya.
