The offering is intended to cover capabilities from L2 partial automation and L3 conditional automation up to L4 high automation.

Lenovo Group vice president and Lenovo Vehicle Computing head Tang Xinyue said: “Our collaboration with Infineon is a key embodiment of Lenovo’s ‘Smarter Technology for All’ strategy deeply integrated into the realm of intelligent vehicles.

“Infineon’s leading semiconductor solutions provide a solid and reliable foundation for our computing platforms. Under the collaboration, Lenovo’s flagship AD1 and AH1 domain controllers will incorporate Infineon’s AURIX microcontroller family.

The companies said the approach is intended to shorten development cycles and increase flexibility for software‑defined vehicle (SDV) architectures.

Infineon Automotive Microcontroller Business Line head and senior vice president Thomas Böhm said: “As the world number one in automotive microcontrollers, the AURIX product family of Infineon plays a crucial role in enabling safe and secure computing in the era of software-defined vehicles.

“By working closely with partners such as Lenovo, we combine robust, safety-critical computing with scalable software architectures, empowering OEMs to accelerate their SDV strategies and advance smart mobility.”

The two firms plan to engage additional partners across the automotive value chain, including in system integration, software and tools.

They also signalled an intention to continue expanding the collaboration by combining hardware platforms with software integration for connected and automated mobility.
