Nissan has said that its global production in September increased 27.2% year-on-year to 395,658 units, marking an all-time record for a single month.
Global sales increased 22% year-on-year to 381,428 units, another company record.
Production in Japan increased 19.4% to 120,167 units, due to increased output of the new Juke and the new Elgrand. Production outside of Japan saw an increase of 31% year-on-year to 275,491 units.
In the US, production increased 31% to 47,909 units, due to increased demand for all models, led by Altima.
In China, meanwhile, production increased 24.3% to 95,413 units, due to increased demand for the new March, Qashqai and Teana, Nissan’s best month ever in the market. Increased production capacity, due to the opening of Nissan’s second plant at Zhengzhou on September 20, is expected to boost future sales.
For the six months to the end of September, Nissan’s global production 34.2% to 2,020,316 units, another record. In Japan, domestic production increased 25.4% whilst outside of Japan it increased 38.1%.

For the six months, global sales increased 19.5% to 2,019,269 units.
Nissan’s exports in September increased 38.3% to 67,888 units. For the six months, Nissan’s exports increased 44.3% year-on-year to 327,531 units.
