Volvo
importer PAG Japan is to recall 2,421 S40 and V40 models to check for possible
defects in front window defrosters, Kyodo News reported, citing government officials.

PAG will collect and repair vehicles imported from July last year to May this
year at no charge to owners, the report said.

A Volvo UK spokesman said he understood the defect has affected only cars fitted
with automatic climate control.

Cars sold in markets sold outside Japan were also affected but the problem
would be dealt with in the UK when cars were brought to dealers for routine
servicing, rather than by a recall, the spokesman added.
