Key Safety Systems (KSS) has started production of steering wheels in its new manufacturing location in Pune, Maharastra, India.
“The new steering wheel plant will strengthen the ‘Make in India’ mission driven by Indian OEMs,” said KSS India president, Mahendra Rajawat.
The new facility specialises in leather wrapping and final assembly of highly-contented steering wheels. It started production for multiple OEM customers from the second quarter of 2017 and reserves space for continued growth.
“This latest investment illustrates our continuing and long-standing commitment to increase our cost competitiveness and strong presence in the region,” added KSS SVP president Asia Region, Greg Heald.
KSS provides system integration and performance of safety-critical components to the automotive and non-automotive markets serving the
active safety, passive safety and speciality product sectors.
KSS is headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan, with a global network of 13,000 employees in 32
sales, engineering, and manufacturing facilities.
