Lotus is eyeing global annual sales of 1,200 units for its new model, the Exige S Roadster, with COO Aslam Farikullah describing Japan and Europe as important markets, the Bernama news agency reported.
Farikullah also highlighted the car’s performance, saying it could go 0-100 km/h (62mph)in 3.9 seconds.
Farikullah said: “The introduction of the new Exige to the Lotus product range has provided a new opportunity for the company to expand and strengthen its production resources. Last year marked a real turning point for the company with a 31% production increase. Lotus engineering is working with more major original equipment manufacturers than it did last year and now has 120 engineering projects on its books.”
He also spoke about the importance of launching the new car in Malaysia which, he said, is “very competitive.” He said the company considers it “pivotal” to introduce more exciting products in Malaysia, with an improvement in the overall product quality, cost and delivery, Bernama reported.
