Major Russian automobile holding company RusPromAvto is in talks with several European companies to create a joint venture in Russia to make medium and heavy trucks, the firm’s general director told Prime-Tass.
Alexander Yushkevich reportedly did not name the companiesbut said the joint venture would manufacture trucks with load-carrying capacities of 10-16 tonnes.
The location for the joint venture has not yet been chosen, Yushkevich said.
Prime-Tass said RusPromAvto also plans to create a joint venture producing car axles. At present axles are produced by the Kanashsky and the Uralsky auto plants and by Russia’s second-largest car and truck maker GAZ, which is incorporated in RusPromAvto.
