China’s Great Wall Motors, best known for its SUVs and pickups, has launched a compact MPV car in South Africa.
The car is the Florid, which has been shown at a number of international motor shows and has a front-end that is very similar in appearance to that of the Toyota Yaris/Vitz.
Media reports say that the 1.5 litre engine car has gone on sale with a R109,990 (USD14,760) price-tag, and includes a 3-year/100 000km warranty.
Great Wall currently sells in a range of international markets including Algeria, Australia, Chile, South Africa and Syria.
There has been speculation that it is planning to sell cars in Europe.
