Mazda is severing is last distribution partnership with Ford by setting up its own sales company in Taiwan which will come into operation next year.
It will include importing Mazda vehicles into the country and providing after sales service. Ford Lio Ho Motor will continue building some of the Mazdas sold in Taiwan, including the 3 and the 5 minivan.
Mazda’s sales in Taiwan fell around 20% last year to 13,000 units but the carmaker intends to launch new models including clean diesel vehicles which are growing in popularity.
