Daimler is to recall around 840,000 vehicles to check for potentially faulty Takata airbags in a move the automaker expects will cost about EUR340m.
The recall affects about 705,000 Mercedes-Benz cars and about 136,000 Daimler vans in the United States.
Costs will be booked in financial year 2015 reducing net profit to EUR8.7bn and group EBIT to EUR13.2bn.
