The Thai new vehicle market continued its recovery from the deep setback in the fourth quarter of 2011 with sales rising by 30.5% in April to 87,788 units, according to the Federation of Thai Industries.
Cumulative sales in the first four months of the year amounted to 365,423 units, up 19.5% compared with year earlier sales of 305,879 units.
Vehicle production increased 59.6% in April to 142,312 units, bringing the cumulative total to 641,872 units – up 15% year on year. Exports rose just 6.2% in April to 55,433 units and by 3.6% to 276,154 units YTD.
