Colleges and universities are being asked to help Britain’s ‘Automotive Academy’ drive skill levels forward in the automotive industry.
The Academy is building up a profile of the skills needed to equip British-based automotive companies take on the very best in the world. Training is recognised as being vital for the UK industry to be globally competitive.
Now the Academy has planned a special day to meet the key people involved in skills enhancement for the automotive industry, both from colleges and the private training providers. The business support community, those who help industry interface with learning and skills, have also been invited. The aim is to form a triple alliance to ensure firms in the automotive sector have access to the very best training available.
Alan Begg, Chief Executive of the Automotive Academy, said: “We need a strong united approach to give our vital industry world-class training that can make companies more efficient and competitive.
“We have received tremendous support to date and now we want to update those organisations which support and deliver the training.
