eGoodManners has stepped up the pace at which it is installing new systems in UK dealerships, after winning major endorsements from several leading vehicle manufacturers.

The company claims to be the fastest-growing electronic internet-based sales lead management organisation in the European auto industry – and has announced plans for expansion in South Africa and Australia.

In the UK, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Peugeot and Vauxhall now recommend the system to their respective retail networks. They follow Volkswagen and Toyota which, earlier this year and following extensive pilot programmes, became the first UK car companies to endorse the system. They have been rolling it out through their networks during 2004.

A spokesman said that December would be a record month for the system. “We have orders for more than 70 new eGM installations in December alone, from dealerships representing a variety of franchises. In fact, it is now used by dealers representing just about every franchise in the UK marketplace (we have around 20% of the Mercedes retail network for example) and we envisage being in every brand in the very near future”.

There are now around 750 users in the UK, from a network of some 5,500 franchised dealerships.

The spokesman added “We have just opened eGM South Africa, and are in negotiations to open eGM Australia. We continue to expand our business in Ireland as well, where we have 24 users so far”.

eGoodManners is effectively an electronic sales diary for the retail motor industry, which the salesperson uses to plan and record his or her selling activities. Sales managers use the system to monitor the performance of their teams more easily than using traditional, paper-based diary systems.
