New BMW Group UK managing director Graeme Grieve is a former sales director of the British unit and starts on 1 October 2014.
He moves back from Munich where he is currently responsible for the group importer business covering over 80 countries. He succeeds Tim Abbott who has been named MD of BMW Group South Africa which has 4,500 employees at Plant Rosslyn, a national sales company and financial services.
Grieve joined BMW UK in 1990 and held several positions before being appointed sales director in 2001. He joined Rolls-Royce in 2006 as global sales and marketing director before moving to Munich in 2009. During his time in Germany, he was also responsible for establishing an independent worldwide sales organisation for Mini within the parent group.
