Ford Motor Company intends to reduce its US dealer network in the next three years, in a move designed to better align distribution with its current market share, the company said at the Reuters Auto Summit.
The manufacturer also told the news service that about 4,300 dealers currently represent Ford’s brands, the majority of which are located in metropolitan areas on the East Coast and in California.
Ford North American sales chief Cisco Codina reportedly said: “I would probably say the East Coast is of particular importance to us and a concern. But equally we have markets in California and in other large cities that we would have to address.”
