DaimlerChrysler Corp. (DCX) formed a hybrid electric vehicle engineering platform, the company said in a press Thursday.

The company named Lawrence J. Oswald as vice president of the hybrid electric vehicle platform. Oswald will report to Bernard I. Robertson, who is senior vice president of engineering technologies and general manager of truck operations.

Oswald, who previously worked as director of body engineering for liberty and technical affairs, will lead DaimlerChrysler’s hybrid electric vehicle programs and development.
