Vietnam’s domestic vehicle manufacturer VinFast Auto continued the global launch of its latest entry level battery electric vehicle (BEV), the VF3 mini SUV, with the model now available in the Philippines.
VinFast began taking orders for the VF3 in Vietnam in May, with the model offered at an introductory price of VND235m (US$9,547) without battery subscription and VND315m ($12,800) including battery. According to the company, this is less than half the price of the cheapest petrol car available in the Vietnamese market at that time.
The automaker said it expected to sell at least 20,000 VF3s in its domestic market by the end of the year, with deliveries having started in August.
Sales of the VF3 began in the Philippines earlier this month, with an introductory starting price of PHP605,000 ($10,840) excluding battery and PHP705,000 ($12,620) with battery.
It is powered by a 19kWh battery, which can be charged from 10% to 70% in 35 minutes, and a 32kW electric motor. It has a range of 210 km.
The VF3 comes with a seven year/160,000km warranty while the battery comes with an eight year unlimited mileage warranty.
