Volvo Cars, which is majority-owned by China’s Geely Holding, has reported a marginal increase in global sales for February 2025, with a total of 50,662 cars sold, marking a 1% rise compared to the same period last year.
However, the company experienced a 3% decrease in the sales of electrified models to 21,598 units, which include fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

These models accounted for 43% of the total sales in February, with fully electric cars making up 18% and plug-in hybrids 24%.
The Volvo XC60 emerged as the best-selling model for the month, with 17,658 units sold, an increase from the previous year’s 16,026. The XC40/EX40 followed with sales of 11,763 cars, although this was a decrease from 13,193 in the previous year.
The XC90 also saw an uptick in sales, with 7,607 cars sold compared to 7,299 in the same month last year.
Furthermore, the company’s sales of mild hybrids/ICE stood at 29,064, an increase by 4% compared to the same period last year.
