Webasto has elected Franz-Josef Kortüm as chairman succeeding Werner Baier.

Baier, the great-grandson of company founder, Wilhelm Baier chaired the Board for 23 years and, as deputy chairman, continues to represent the interests of the owners of Webasto on the Supervisory Board.

The company has been family-owned since its foundation in 1901.

Kortüm has been closely associated with Webasto for many years. He joined the automotive supplier in Stockdorf as member of the management board in 1994 and was appointed chairman of the management board in 1999.

Following the handover of the company’s management to the current chairman, Holger Engelmann, Kortüm transferred to the supervisory board of Webasto at the start of 2013. He remained deputy chairman of the supervisory board until mid-2018.
