Autonomous driving AI technology company Nullmax has partnered with Renesas Electronics to enhance advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) capabilities.

The partnership will focus on integrating Nullmax’s AI-driven software algorithms with Renesas’ R-Car V4 and R-Car X5 series chips.

By leveraging their technological expertise, the companies aim to develop mass-producible ADAS solutions, which meet the needs of the intelligent driving sector.

Nullmax market ecosystem head Zhe Sun said: “This collaboration will maximise Nullmax’s expertise in autonomous driving AI algorithms while capitalising on Renesas’ robust chip performance. Together, we are committed to advancing breakthroughs and commercialisation in autonomous driving technology.

“Through our close cooperation, we believe we can provide more efficient and reliable ADAS solutions for the global automotive industry, accelerating the widespread adoption and commercialisation of smart driving technologies.”

Through this collaboration, both companies seek to provide more competitive autonomous driving solutions and services for the global automakers and Tier 1 suppliers.

Renesas High Performance Computing Product Group business development head Takeshi Fuse said: “We are very delighted to have Nullmax as a partner in AD & ADAS applications, Nullmax’ proven perception solution enables fast implementation of AD & ADAS products built on Renesas SoCs, we will together bring more advance and more competitive products to support our customers make cars safer and smarter.”

Last year, Nullmax unveiled its next-generation autonomous driving technology, Nullmax Intelligence (NI), designed to enhance automotive intelligence with a vision-only, map-free, and end-to-end multimodal approach.

The NI system incorporates an advanced multimodal model alongside a brain-inspired safety model, equipping vehicles with sensory capabilities comparable to human perception.

It enables vehicles to see, hear, and interpret surroundings by outputting visual results, scene descriptions, and driving behaviours.

Founded in 2016, Nullmax is engaged in developing AI-based autonomous driving applications designed for diverse driving scenarios.
